Checking the surf shouldn't mean opening ten tabs. SurfCams puts every surf cam and spot along Europe's coasts on one calm map, with a forecast you can read at a glance.
Surf cams are everywhere and nowhere: one on a town hall's website, one on a tourist office's, one behind a weather service, each with its own page and its own player. Finding out whether it's worth driving to the beach meant hopping between all of them, then between forecast sites that disagree.
SurfCams brings them together. Open the map, see which cams are live and which spots are working today, and tap through to a spot for its cams, a 16-day forecast rated hour by hour, the tide and a local guide.
Every feed comes straight from the camera's owner: weather agencies, town halls, tourist offices, surf clubs and camera networks. We never re-host a stream taken from another surf site, and each cam credits and links its source.
When an owner doesn't allow other sites to show their camera, we only link to their page. Cam owners who would like a cam added, credited differently or taken down can write to us and we'll sort it out quickly.
Forecasts come from open weather and ocean models: Open-Meteo (Météo-France, ECMWF, DWD and NOAA models) and NOAA WaveWatch III. Each hour is rated against what the spot needs: the swell direction and period it likes, the wind that cleans it up, the tide it works on. Spot guides are written from local knowledge and checked against public sources.
Found a spot we're missing, a cam that's down, a forecast that's off, or a camera you run? Send a note.
