A fast right-hander over rocks and sand on the coast just north of Civitavecchia. On a good south-west swell it can throw a proper barrel section. Few people surf it, partly because the rocky bottom puts many off.

Travel notes

How often it works
Needs a proper storm swell from the south or south-west, so it breaks only a few days a month in the cooler season and is mostly flat in summer.
Crowd and vibe
Usually quiet, with only a few surfers out.
Camping and vans
We did not find a campsite within 10 km. There are campsites further north along the Tarquinia coast and around Santa Marinella.
Facilities
Very little at the spot; Civitavecchia has shops, bars and restaurants a few kilometres south.
Water quality
The EU bathing sites nearby, at Bagni Pirgo and the Fosso Infernaccio, were rated good to excellent from 2023 to 2025. Note the port and power station of Civitavecchia a short way south.
