A beach break east of Hanstholm harbour, named after the old fishmeal factory, just west of a small pier. It stays rideable when strong westerly winds blow out everything else, and it is a favourite with SUP riders.

Big stones sit in the water and are hidden at high water. The factory has closed, so the old smell is mostly gone. Water drops to about 5 °C in winter: a 5/4 or 6/5 wetsuit with boots, gloves and a hood.

Getting there

Park at the dune meadow east of the harbour; a staircase now links the spot with the town centre.
