A beach break beside the pier, the Pontile Bestoso, in the centre of Alassio. Short, fast and fun lefts and rights break over sand on both sides of the pier. It only wakes up with a south or south-east storm swell and is at its best once the swell is over 2 m.

Local tips
Some surfers jump off the pier to skip the paddle; only do it if you know the depth and can time the sets. The local standard is high, so be friendly and wait your turn.
Getting there
The pier is in the centre of Alassio, on the seafront. Leave the Via Aurelia for the town centre; parking is hard to find in summer.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Inconsistent. There is little room for long-period swell to build, so it depends on short south and south-east storm swells, mostly in winter. Summer is flat.
- Crowd and vibe
- Empty on most weekdays but crowded at weekends when it works, with a good level in the water. The mood is friendly if you show respect.
- Camping and vans
- The nearest campsite we found is La Vedetta, about 2.5 km north-east towards Albenga; Camping Capo Mele is about 4 km south-west. Nearest campsite about 2.5 km away.
- Facilities
- Bathing establishments, bars, restaurants and shops all along the Alassio seafront.
- Water quality
- The EU bathing site at the pier (Zona Molo) was rated good in 2025 and excellent in earlier years. The Rio Cardellino mouth, about 400 m north-east, was rated poor in 2024 and 2025, so stay out of the water after heavy rain.
