Amado is a wide beach in a green valley south of Carrapateira, with cliffs on both sides. It catches lots of swell and is a favourite of surf schools in summer. Peaks break both ways over sand, with a few rocks, and they can be fast and hollow even when small. It is a bit more protected from the north-west wind than Bordeira.
