Herlin is a fan-shaped sandy beach at the mouth of a small ria on Belle-Île's south coast near Bangor, enclosed by high cliffs, with dunes on its eastern side. It is mainly a family beach, but regular rollers make it a known bodyboarding spot, and surf guides mention it as the place to look when Donnant on the west coast is not working. Very little is written about the wave itself.

Local tips
The water can look calm while strong currents run along both sides of the bay, creating holes and eddies, so stay away from the edges. At high tide a rocky outcrop in the middle almost splits the beach in two. It is lifeguarded only in summer afternoons, and few surfers use it, so don't surf alone.
Getting there
From the Bangor–Locmaria road, turn off before the Pierre Sainte-Anne menhir towards Kervarigeon; a car park of around a hundred spaces leaves about 400 metres on foot, ending in steps, so it is not accessible for reduced mobility. The coastal path links it to Baluden beach.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- It needs a clean south-west swell and is fickle compared with Donnant. It is a sheltered cove, so it is often flat.

- Few surfers ever use it. In summer it is a family swimming beach.
- Camping and vans
- Camping de l'Océan near Le Palais is about 5 km away. The municipal Camping de Port-Andro in Locmaria is about 6.5 km. Nearest campsite about 5 km away.
- Facilities
- Lifeguards watch the beach on summer afternoons, but there are no cafés or toilets on the sand.
- Water quality
- The Herlin monitoring point was rated good every season from 2022 to 2025, and all eight 2026 samples were good.
