Praia da Barra is the beach just south of the Aveiro harbour entrance, by the tall Barra lighthouse. The long harbour jetties block much of the swell, so it needs a bigger swell than the open beaches, and the waves are softer. It is a good place to learn, and on the right day the sandbars give long, fast rides.
