Local tips

In a strong north wind, surf close to the harbour wall, which blocks the wind. A current and some dirty water come out of the harbour, so stay clear of the harbour mouth. Respect the regulars. The North Sea is about 5–7 °C in winter: a 5/4 wetsuit with boots, gloves and a hood.

Getting there

Take the tram or bus to the Zuiderstrand or the harbour, or park along the Zuiderstrand (free and paid parking) and walk north to the harbour wall.
