Widemouth is a long, open sandy bay south of Bude, with rock reefs at both ends. Peaks spread along the beach from mid tide up, which suits beginners and improvers. At high tide the reef at the north end gives fast lefts and rights for better surfers, while the south end, Black Rock, is usually quieter.
