Zavial is a south-facing cove east of Sagres and one of the best waves on the south coast. A right point at the west end throws fast, hollow barrels when big north-west swells wrap in. The other side of the beach is much easier, with friendly peaks for beginners on a falling tide. The water is a bit warmer than on the west coast.
