Denmark's best-known wave, named after the German wartime bunkers on the beach just south of Klitmøller. An A-frame breaks over round boulders, with a long peeling right and a short, softer left. In front of the car park a sandy shore break can throw the biggest barrels in the country when the sand is right.

Local tips
It gets crowded every time the forecast looks good. Local surfers have waited for these days: don't paddle straight to the peak, wait your turn. Only expert SUP riders should go out. Water drops to about 5 °C in winter: a 5/4 or 6/5 wetsuit with boots, gloves and a hood.
Getting there
Drive south from Klitmøller on the coast road to the car park behind the bunkers.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- The Thy coast takes North Sea wind swell from the south-west round to the north, so autumn, winter and spring bring waves most weeks. Real groundswell is rare, periods are short, and summer can be flat for long spells. The reef holds swell better than the sandy spots.
- Crowd and vibe
- Crowded on good days, with locals and visitors from Germany and Scandinavia. Respect the line-up.
