The reef in front of the village, made of stones and mussel beds, runs from just south of the NASA surf club round to its north side. It is the heart of 'Cold Hawaii' and an easy wave most days, with lefts and rights. Just inside, the Inside Reef makes a short, fast left that turns hollow on a north swell.

Local tips
The reef is shallow and the mussels are sharp: wear boots. Surf schools and SUP riders often fill the line-up. Water drops to about 5 °C in winter: a 5/4 or 6/5 wetsuit with boots, gloves and a hood.
Getting there
Park at the large car park by the NASA surf club on Ørhagevej; the reef is in front of it.
Travel notes

- Crowd and vibe
- The busiest line-up in Denmark, with many learners and SUP riders. Relaxed but crowded.

- Facilities
- Car park, toilets, the NASA surf club, surf shops, a surf camp and cafés in the village.
- Water quality
- The EU bathing-water site Klitmøller was rated excellent in 2023, 2024 and 2025 in the European Environment Agency data.
