A short, fast reef wave beside the small harbour of Caleta de Famara, between the village and San Juan. It breaks over sharp lava with urchins and has a ledgey take-off. It is a step up from the beach and handy when the beach is closing out.

Travel notes

How often it works
Works on the same north swells as Famara but needs a little more size.
Crowd and vibe
Usually quiet; a handful of surfers at weekends.
Camping and vans
Wild camping is banned on Lanzarote. The only regulated camping area is at Papagayo in the far south, open in set periods with a booking. Vans parked overnight at Famara and Caletón Blanco are a known problem, and overnight stays there are not allowed.
Facilities
Everything is in the village: cafés, surf shops and parking.
Water quality
In the 2025 EU bathing-water results, the harbour beach of La Caleta was rated good, down from excellent in earlier years.
