Travel notes

How often it works
Consistent through the winter on north to west swells.
Crowd and vibe
Crowded, with strong localism: several sources warn that locals don't like visitors on the left. The right across the bay is friendlier.
Camping and vans
Wild camping is banned on Lanzarote. The only regulated camping area is at Papagayo in the far south, open in set periods with a booking. Vans parked overnight at Famara and Caletón Blanco are a known problem, and overnight stays there are not allowed.

Parking opposite the break, cafés and shops in the village.
Water quality
In the 2025 EU bathing-water results, the La Santa sampling points were rated excellent.
