A heavy left that breaks onto a shallow lava shelf just off the old harbour of La Santa, often called the Canarian Pipeline. It is short, very hollow and powerful, and it holds big swell. A mistake here means a hit on the reef.

When it works

When it doesn't

✕ Low tide is extremely dangerous. Small swells don't break properly, and summer is mostly flat.

Watch out for

  • reef
  • rocks
  • rips
  • localism

Best months

Local tips

Only for experienced tube riders. Get in at the La Santa pier and watch a few sets before you go.

Getting there

Get in from the small pier at La Santa; you can see the wave from the village.

Travel notes

How often it works
Needs a proper winter groundswell at high tide, so it is less consistent than its neighbours.
Crowd and vibe
Often empty because it is so heavy. When it's on, the local chargers are out and get priority.
Camping and vans
Wild camping is banned on Lanzarote. The only regulated camping area is at Papagayo in the far south, open in set periods with a booking. Vans parked overnight at Famara and Caletón Blanco are a known problem, and overnight stays there are not allowed.
Facilities
Cafés and shops in La Santa village, parking near the pier.
Water quality
In the 2025 EU bathing-water results, the La Santa sampling points were rated excellent.
