Les Blancs Sablons is a long white-sand bay just north of Le Conquet, sheltered by the Kermorvan peninsula and facing north-west towards Molène and Ouessant. Most days the waves are small and soft and a medium swell closes out, so it is a teaching beach. It is a big-swell option: in winter, when everything else on the Iroise coast is closing out, it gives manageable, fun lefts and rights of 50–150 m, and it stays clean in a south-westerly wind. A shorebreak builds when it gets big.

Local tips
Stay on the main part of the bay and keep away from the left-hand side by the cliff, where there are rocks. Surf the rising tide from mid to high and get out before low tide, when the shorebreak and currents take over. Big days bring sets that break further out than the rest, and in a strong wind expect to drift down the beach and walk back.
Getting there
From Brest take the D789 to Le Conquet and follow the signs for the Blancs Sablons, along the road to the Kermorvan peninsula. Park in the last gravel car park on the right, about 50 m from the sand. A surf school has taught here since 2010.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Usually small, with waves that break all at once. It really works for surfing only on big winter swells. Then it becomes the sheltered option when the open spots nearby get too big. Most other days bring small, soft waves suited to lessons.
- Crowd and vibe
- Uncrowded most of the time: often empty in the week, with a few surfers at weekends. The mood is relaxed and friendly, with surf school groups on small days.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Les Blancs Sablons is about 0.5 km from the beach on the Kermorvan road. It is a large two-star site with a pool and motorhome pitches. Pitches are open from May to mid-September. Nearest campsite about 0.5 km away.
- Facilities
- The western part of the beach has lifeguards from 1 July to 31 August. Surfing Iroise teaches here and runs a café-shop in Le Conquet, and restaurants are at the harbour about 1.5 km away.
- Water quality
- Rated excellent by the French health ministry every year from 2022 to 2025. It was one of three Le Conquet beaches with the Blue Flag (Pavillon Bleu) in 2025.
