Llangennith is the northern half of Rhossili Bay and the best-known surf beach in South Wales. It faces straight into the Atlantic swell, so it is the region's indicator: if it is flat here, it is flat everywhere nearby. Peaks spread along kilometres of sand, with room for learners and good surfers alike.

Local tips
Walk away from the main path to find your own peak. Look out for shipwreck remains under the waterline. Once it is over head high, less experienced surfers will struggle to get out the back.
Getting there
Park at Hillend Campsite (pay at the gate) and walk down the sandy path through the dunes, or park at Broughton Farm at the north end.
History
Llangennith has long been a centre of Welsh surfing, and several surf schools teach here every summer.
