Local tips

A tight local crew picks off the sets. Sitting a little wide for the smaller ones is the realistic plan for visitors.

Getting there

The North Shore is reached by the rough coastal dirt track between Corralejo and El Cotillo, or by the tarmac road from Lajares down to Majanicho. A normal car manages slowly; take care on the rocks.

Travel notes

How often it works
Reliable in winter, mostly flat in summer.
Crowd and vibe
Strong localism: wannasurf describes 10–15 locals who take every set wave and drop in on visitors.
Camping and vans
Wild camping is not allowed on Fuerteventura; only marked camping zones may be used, and the island council is still drawing up its camping rules. The Canary Government's draft decree would ban tourist overnight stays in vans and campers outside official campsites.

None.
Water quality
There is no official bathing-water point on this stretch of the North Shore; the nearest points, at Corralejo and El Cotillo about 7–8 km away, are not representative.
