La Perroche is a small bay on Oléron's south-west coast at Dolus-d'Oléron, just beside La Rémigeasse, with a sailing base and boats moored in the cove. Like most of this coast it has a flat, shallow profile, so moderate swells give soft, manageable waves while big swells start breaking far out. Little is written about the surfing here: it is used mostly by local schools and by windsurfers and kiters, and the nearby Rémigeasse is the better-known surf beach.

Local tips
Keep clear of the moored boats and the channel used by the sailing base when you paddle out. If it is too small or too soft here, check La Rémigeasse a few hundred metres away, which picks up more swell and can get hollow close to the shore on bigger days.
Getting there
La Perroche is reached via the chemin des Tamaris in Dolus-d'Oléron, near a campsite; there is a small car park, toilets and a picnic area by the beach.
