This is a short, powerful beach break on Oléron's south-west coast near Vert-Bois, a little north of Le Grand-Village-Plage. The peak sits beside a patch of rocks, which gives it a little more shape than the open sand around it, with lefts and rights. It needs a real west swell to work and is inconsistent, so it is seldom surfed and usually empty. Locals who know it say it is only worth the trip on proper swells.

Local tips
Surf the peak to the right of the beach access, next to the rocks, and keep an eye on them as the tide drops. It is worth a look on solid west swells when the better-known beaches nearby are crowded, but on small days there is little here.
Getting there
Head down the west coast towards Vert-Bois and Le Grand-Village-Plage, turn off at the junction for the track to the beach and follow it to the parking at the end; the beach access is visible from there and the walk is a couple of minutes.
