El Castillo is a right-hand point that breaks over flat rocks off the islet of Sancti Petri, with its old castle, at the mouth of the Sancti Petri channel. On a solid south-west swell it can be hollow and powerful, with long rides on good days. It only works now and then, and reaching it means a long paddle from the beach. It is for experienced surfers.

Local tips
Wannasurf warns that the paddle out takes about 40 minutes, so check from the beach that it is breaking before you set off. The channel has boat traffic and strong tidal currents.
