Sandymouth is a wide beach of sand and pebbles about 8 km north of Bude, below high cliffs. At low tide a lot of sand opens up, and easy peaks break both left and right. It faces straight into the Atlantic, so it often has waves when the sheltered town beaches are small.

Local tips

Rocks stick out of the sand in places, so look before you paddle out. Signs warn of strong currents and falling rocks: stay away from the foot of the cliffs.

Getting there

From the car park above the beach, a sloping path and then steps take a few minutes to walk down. The path is too steep for wheelchairs.
