Audresselles is a fishing village between Cap Gris-Nez and Ambleteuse, with a shingle-and-sand beach about a kilometre long and flat rock ledges mixed in, most of all at the northern end. A westerly Channel swell gives short, fun peaks both ways, but it breaks only now and then and the waves stay small. It is mostly a bodyboard wave that becomes surfable around low tide, when the sandbanks show. It is shallow and ledgy in places and nearly always empty.

Local tips
Low tide gives the best chance of a rideable wave, when the sand patches between the rocks show. The water is shallow and ledgy, so mind your fins. Avoid the boulder-strewn northern end. Winter, especially January, is the most likely time to find it working.
Getting there
Several lanes lead down from the village to the beach. There is free parking on Avenue des Flobarts and a bigger car park at the village exit towards Ambleteuse. The beach is not reliably watched by lifeguards, and currents can be dangerous.
History
The village is one of the communes of the Grand Site de France des Deux Caps, labelled in 2011.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Rarely breaks. It needs a solid west swell from the Channel with an easterly breeze. Forecasters give it about 2 out of 10 for consistency, and it is mostly flat outside winter.
- Crowd and vibe
- Uncrowded even when it is working. The central beach is busiest in summer, but with swimmers and families rather than surfers.
- Camping and vans
- Directories list two small campsites in the village, Le Noirda and Le Mont Asie. Nearby Ambleteuse has the larger three-star Camping L'Eglantier, about 200 m from the sea, which also takes motorhomes. Nearest campsite about 0.5 km away.
- Facilities
- There are toilets, showers, a few seafood restaurants, free parking on avenue des Flobarts and a bigger car park at the exit towards Ambleteuse. Lifeguard cover is unreliable and there is no surf school.
- Water quality
- Official ARS tests rate Audresselles Centre Plage as good for 2024 and 2025, after four years at sufficient (2020–2023). It was excellent from 2015 to 2018.
