A heavy left off the headland at the western end of Bundoran's bay, a short way past the town. The take-off is steep and small, the wave sucks hard off an uneven reef, then runs fast and hollow. It is one of the most serious waves around Bundoran and only for expert surfers.

Local tips

The take-off zone is tiny and the best locals know it well, so wait your turn and don't paddle out if you are not at home in heavy, hollow waves. Getting in off the rocks is easy; getting back out of the water is much harder once the swell is up, so plan your exit first.

Getting there

Free roadside parking near the headland at the west end of Bundoran. You enter the water from the rocks.

Travel notes

How often it works
Moderately consistent. It needs a solid west or north-west swell, but once it breaks it holds big swells well.
Crowd and vibe
Few people during the week, crowded at weekends when it works (wannasurf). Wannasurf lists localism: respect the regulars and you may get a few waves.
Facilities
None at the reef. Bundoran, a few minutes away, has surf shops, surf schools, cafés, pubs and toilets.
Water quality
Not an EPA-monitored bathing water. The nearest monitored beach, Bundoran, was rated Excellent in 2025 and holds a Blue Flag.
