A rare, fast, hollow and powerful left that wraps around the Pointe de Leydé, past the Roches Blanches beach west of Tréboul, running close to the boulders. It needs a big winter swell to get into the Douarnenez bay and breaks only a few times a season, but then it can give rides of 300 m or more. The take-off is steep, often right in front of the rocks, and you have to go left straight away, so it is for experienced surfers and bodyboarders only; wear a helmet. The locals are good, and it gets crowded on the few days it works.

Local tips

Watch a few sets before paddling out and work out where the take-off is compared with the boulders; people get hurt on the rocks. The locals are good surfers and mostly friendly, but word spreads fast when it breaks, so weekends get crowded; come alone or in a small group. It is often windy here, so the rare clean days go quickly.

Getting there

From Tréboul take the road past the Roches Blanches beach and carry on about 500 m west to a small parking spot that is easy to miss, then walk along the coastal path for 5 to 15 minutes.

Travel notes

How often it works
Very rarely works. The point faces into the bay and needs a big winter swell to bend round it. It may break only a few times a season and is flat all summer.
Crowd and vibe
Empty most of the time. When it does break, word spreads and weekends get crowded with good surfers from the region. Locals are reported as friendly; come alone or in a small group and wait your turn.
Camping and vans
FLOWER Camping Kerleyou in Tréboul is about 1 km inland and has a motorhome area. In Douarnenez, vans are sent to a small free car park on Impasse Jean Barre, with a reported 24-hour limit. Users say other town-centre car parks ban campervans. Nearest campsite about 1 km away.
Facilities
Only a small, easy-to-miss parking spot and the coastal path. No toilets, cafés or lifeguards; Tréboul has shops, cafés and the port.
Water quality
The point is not an official bathing site, so it has no rating of its own. Nearby Tréboul beaches were rated excellent (Sables Blancs) and good (Pors Cad) for 2025.
