Foxos is a small, steep beach of about 350 m at Noalla, Sanxenxo, between rocky points just south of A Lanzada. Open to west and north-west swells, it works in small surf and is often twice the size of A Lanzada, with more power. It is sheltered from most winds, and there is a surf school on site. The peaks break both ways over sandbars that change after storms, and the banks are fickle: it can close out at low tide and get backwash at high tide. It has become less consistent in recent years, with good peaks only now and then.

Local tips

Forecasts often look better than the beach, so check from the lookout above first. Mid tide is the window. Locals are often in the water, so respect the peak.

Getting there

From A Lanzada, drive a few hundred metres towards Portonovo. Take the dirt road at the chapel down to the beach. There are parking, showers, lifeguards, a beach bar and a surf school, and a Blue Flag in summer.

Travel notes

How often it works
It faces straight west, so it picks up small swells and was long known as one of the most consistent beaches here. The sandbanks have been poorer in recent years, so good days now come and go.
Crowd and vibe
Usually only a few surfers, but local surfers are often out. Wait your turn at the peak.
Camping and vans
Camping Cachadelos, in Noalla, is about 1 km away and open April to October. Vans can stay at the paid área de autocaravanas at Playa Pragueira, about 2.5 km south. Nearest campsite about 1 km away.
Facilities
In summer there are lifeguards, showers, a beach bar and a surf school.
Water quality
Holds Bandera Azul for 2026, which needs excellent bathing-water results the season before.
