Langre is a kilometre-long beach below high cliffs east of Loredo, reached by long stairways and split into Langre Grande and Langre Pequeña. Sandbars between rock shelves give powerful peaks both ways. It picks up more swell than Somo and holds bigger waves than the beaches inside the bay, though the banks close out above about 3 m. The cliffs give some shelter from west wind. It is part of the Ribamontán al Mar surf reserve.

Local tips
Low tide and the first part of the rising tide are best. It gets crowded on good days and in summer, so spread out along the beach rather than piling onto one bank. The far end has long been a naturist area.
Getting there
Park on the cliff top above the beach and take the stairway down. There are few facilities on the sand.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Fairly consistent. It faces west, so it gets more swell than Somo and Loredo and works on small to medium swells. The sandbanks between the rock shelves can't hold big swell and close out above about 3 m.
- Crowd and vibe
- Less crowded than Somo and Loredo most of the year. Summer weekends and surf camps can put dozens of people in the water, but peaks break all along the beach, so the mood is relaxed.
- Camping and vans
- The nearest campsites are in Loredo, about 3 km west: Camping Derby Loredo by the beach and Camping El Arbolado, open all year. Nearest campsite about 3 km away.
- Facilities
- Summer lifeguards but no showers, toilets or bars on the sand; you reach it down a long stone staircase from cliff-top parking.
- Water quality
- The EU rated Langre's water excellent five years running, in the latest data (2021). It has no Bandera Azul.
