Travel notes

How often it works
An exposed beach that catches most north-west swells. Like the rest of this coast, it is at its best in autumn and spring when the wind is calm.
Crowd and vibe
Few surfers in the week and crowded at weekends, wannasurf says.
Camping and vans
Parque de Campismo de Fão, a few hundred metres from the beach between Fão and Ofir, is about 4 km north. Portuguese road law bans motorhome overnight stays outside authorised places in protected areas, Natura 2000 sites and zones covered by the coastal plans, and limits other overnight stops to 48 hours per municipality. Nearest campsite about 4 km away.
Facilities
Lifeguards in season, a first-aid post, toilets, showers, beach bars and a car park.
Water quality
Rated excellent in APA's latest annual classification; Blue Flag beach in 2026.
