Matalascañas is a holiday resort squeezed between the sea and the Doñana National Park. Its long sandy beach has a series of peaks over sandbars that break left and right. The beach takes both local wind swell and longer Atlantic swell, so it works more often than most of the Huelva coast. Small days suit learners; bigger winter days bring strong rips.
