The beaches north of the Courant de Mimizan run from the Corniche up past Garluche to Remember, all overlooked by the belvedere on the northern promenade. It is a straightforward beach break with lefts and rights over sand, usually fun rather than heavy, and much less crowded than the spots further south. Garluche and Remember are good places to learn on small days, and Remember often has one or more defined peaks. Quality depends on the banks and can be scrappy in summer.

Local tips
Start at Garluche, where the car park looks straight onto the waves, and walk north toward Remember if it is busy. In summer the sea breeze usually picks up from late morning, so go early for glassy water. Locals joke that the smell of the paper mill drifting over the beach means the wind is offshore.
Getting there
Mimizan-Plage is about 6 km west of Mimizan-Bourg. The Garluche car park overlooks the beach and there is more parking near the belvedere to the north; Remember has a summer lifeguard post.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- This open beach by the river jetty has fairly steady surf all year. Both wind waves and distant swells reach it. Like all Landes beaches, it closes out on the biggest days.
- Crowd and vibe
- It is rarely crowded. Wannasurf says it is empty on weekdays, with few surfers at weekends. Parking is only hard in July and August. The mood is easy-going.
- Camping and vans
- Camping de la Plage (Siblu) is about 800 m from the beaches and takes campervans. The Camping-Car Park aire next to the Plage Sud is open all year, with 85 places and a 72-hour limit. Nearest campsite about 1 km away.
- Facilities
- Cafés, shops and surf schools are a short walk away. There are car parks at Garluche and the belvedere, and a lifeguard post at Remember in summer.
- Water quality
- Four of Mimizan's five bathing sites are rated excellent in the official French rating (national open data, 2022), and one only sufficient. After heavy rain, check the posted results before you go in.
