Orrestranda, often called Norway's longest sandy beach, about 3 km of fine sand. Sandbar peaks can give long, rippable lines when the banks line up; there are small points at both ends. It is very sensitive to wind.

Local tips
The stretch from Reve harbour south to Orre is a bird-protected area: the county governor bans surfing, kiting and other board sports there from 1 November to 31 March (some tourism pages say from 1 October), and you must not disturb birds at any time. Follow the marked paths and stay off the dunes. Water is about 5–7 °C in late winter and up to about 16–18 °C in late summer: a 5/4 with boots, gloves and a hood from autumn to spring.
Getting there
Park at Friluftshuset Orre (car and bike parking) and walk down the marked paths.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Jæren is Norway's most consistent surf coast: open to the North Sea from south-west to north-west, it gets waves most weeks from September to April, from both wind swell and longer North Atlantic swell. Summer is smaller and often flat. The tide range is small. Orre is more wind-sensitive than Bore, so it is clean less often.
- Crowd and vibe
- Usually empty.
- Camping and vans
- Bore Strandcamping is about 7 km north; camping on the beach and in the dunes is not allowed. Nearest campsite about 7 km away.
- Facilities
- Toilet at the Orre car park and a visitor centre (Friluftshuset Orre).
- Water quality
- No bathing-water results were found: Norway is not in the European Environment Agency bathing-water data, and no local results for this beach turned up.
