La Guérite, also listed by surfers as Tata Beach, sits midway along the Plouharnel strand, a long dune-backed sandy beach with no rocks and a gentle slope. The banks produce short, fun lefts and rights that rarely have much power but are very consistent, picking up swell on a large share of the year's days. The nearby section known as Les Crevettes is where one of the area's long-established surf schools gives lessons all year. It suits learners, families and relaxed sessions rather than surfers chasing quality.

Local tips
Locals tend to use this part of the beach around high tide, when the Côte Sauvage coves are too full. The peaks shift with the banks, so walk up or down the beach to find a cleaner one. The line-up is usually friendly, but basic drop-in etiquette matters when the schools and local groms share a peak.
Getting there
Signposted off the D768 between Plouharnel and Saint-Pierre-Quiberon (Chemin de la Base ULM); park behind the dunes and walk a few minutes over the marked path. The beach is not lifeguarded.
