Razo is a big, very exposed beach in Carballo, at the gateway to the Costa da Morte and inside the Razo–Baldaio protected area. It is one of the busiest surf centres on this coast, with many schools and surf camps, and it has a long history of contests. Its named peaks include sheltered A Cabreira, Teirón over rock and the river peak. Explanada has a long left and a powerful right, and Cordobés is a quality right in front of the bar. It picks up most swells, works through most of the tide and holds about 2.5 m. The beach is big enough that it rarely feels crowded away from the central rocks.
