San Francisco is an open-ocean reef in a bay on the Oia coast, south of Mougás. A deep rock bottom in the middle of the bay makes it start only at about 1.5 m. A west swell gives a good peak both ways; with more north in the swell it becomes mostly a right. It moves a lot of water and can hold about 3 m before the whole bay closes out.

A ramp at the start of the bay leads into the water, and there is parking right in front of the peak.

History

Local surfers from Baiona, A Guarda and Vigo have surfed it since the late 1980s.
