Bastiagueiro is a sheltered beach in Oleiros, about 10 minutes from A Coruña, tucked inside the ría. It only works when a strong north-west swell wraps in. The sand bottom is stable and slopes very gently, so the waves, mostly rights, break slowly and softly and give long, easy rides. Being so close to the city, it is one of Galicia's main surf school hubs. Currents are minimal, but the water is extremely crowded on good days and weekends.

Travel notes
- How often it works
- It sits deep inside the ría, so it only works when a big north-west swell wraps in. That makes it a good choice on stormy days when the open coast is too big.
- Crowd and vibe
- It is one of the most crowded surf beaches in Galicia: busy on weekdays and packed at weekends, with surf schools and learners everywhere. Be patient and follow priority. One old report describes tension with locals, but that is a single dated account.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Los Manzanos in Oleiros is about 2.5 km away and closes in mid-October. Oleiros has a small free área de autocaravanas about 1 km away, with three places, a 48-hour limit and no awnings or chairs allowed. Nearest campsite about 2.5 km away.
- Facilities
- Large car park, showers, a promenade, a Red Cross lifeguard post in summer, surf schools, and bars and cafés across the road.

- Bastiagueiro holds a 2026 Blue Flag, which requires excellent results in the official water tests.
