Concha de Artedo is a deep, shell-shaped bay of sand, rock, boulders and large pebbles west of Cudillero. Its shape blocks most swell, so the waves are usually soft and moderate. It needs a big north-west groundswell to come alive. Then it gives sheltered, good-quality peaks of medium size at low to mid tide. The water is usually quiet, though the beach is busy in summer.
