The northern beach of La Tranche-sur-Mer, a long sandy stretch reached through the pine forest beyond the village of La Terrière, just south of Bud Bud. Sandbars and baïnes shape fast, short lefts and rights, with some hollow shorebreak on the right day and longer rides when the banks are good. It is similar in style to Bud Bud but usually a little quieter, and it suits a wide range of surfers: beginners on the smaller summer days, intermediates when the swell has punch.

Local tips
The beach is full of baïnes, so watch for the rip channels: they help you paddle out, but they also drag swimmers and beginners offshore. Low tide gives steeper, faster waves and high tide softer ones, so the rising mid tide is the usual compromise. Dawn sessions with an easterly can be glassy and uncrowded; in summer, use the surf zone and leave the bathing area to swimmers.
