Moliets Plage sits just south of the mouth of the Courant d'Huchet, a small river that flows out of the Étang de Moliets. The river helps keep good sandbars in place on the north side, where rights of 100–150 m can form in a good year. The rest of the central beach is a typical Landes beach break whose quality depends on the banks: some years it has barrelling sections, other years it closes out. It suits intermediates, and the low-tide whitewater is used for learning.
