Plage des Chênes-Lièges is the quieter stretch south of central Moliets, toward the golf course. The banks here are less reliable than those at the Huchet mouth to the north, but they are much less crowded and can be good when they line up. It is a classic Landes sandbar break with lefts and rights and strong currents, best for intermediates who can read the baïnes.

Local tips
Access points between the Saint-Martin campsite and the golf course are few, which is what keeps the crowd down; expect a walk. Check the channels from the dune, since the currents and baïnes are strong here.
Getting there
From Moliets Plage, the main access is restricted and the parking is often some way from the beach; take the paths through the dunes toward the golf course.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- It is as open as the main Moliets beach, so it has waves most days. Strong rip channels shape the sandbanks. It closes out on big swells.
- Crowd and vibe
- There are few ways in between the Saint-Martin campsite and the golf course, so it is quieter than the centre. It is a good escape from summer crowds if you don't mind the walk.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Le Saint-Martin (5 stars) is right behind the dune here, with direct beach access. It has about 640 pitches and is open roughly April to October. Nearest campsite about 0.5 km away.
- Facilities
- There is little here besides paths through the dune. Toilets, cafés, surf schools and lifeguards are at the main Moliets beach.
- Water quality
- Both of Moliets' bathing sites are rated excellent in the official French rating (national open data, 2022).
