Nemiña, in Muxía, sits where the Lires estuary meets the sea and is one of the best-known wave beaches on the Costa da Morte. It faces west, so it is sheltered from the summer north-east winds that blow out much of the coast. Depending on the sandbanks, there is a long right at the northern end and a hollow left in the middle. It gets crowded in spring and summer, with many longboarders.

Local tips
Summer north-easterlies blow offshore here. The weather changes quickly and the water is cold, so bring warm clothes even in summer. The Lires estuary is good for birdwatching, and the sunsets are famous.
Getting there
A rural beach about five minutes' walk from parking, with a small bar and hostel close by. It lies on stage 6 of the Camiño dos Faros coastal trail.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- Consistent and works all year. It needs some swell, but its west-facing angle keeps it clean in the summer north-easterly winds that spoil many nearby beaches.
- Crowd and vibe
- The mood is relaxed and family-like, but it gets crowded in spring and summer, with lots of longboarders.
- Camping and vans
- The nearest campsite is Camping Ruta Finisterre at Estorde (Cee), about 8 km away, open in summer only. Fisterra and Muxía have áreas de autocaravanas, each about 10–11 km away. Nearest campsite about 8 km away.
- Facilities
- A small bar with a hostel is close to the beach; there are no other services.
- Water quality
- Not on the 2026 Blue Flag list, and we found no official bathing-water rating. The Lires estuary flows out at the beach.
