San Antolín is a long, open beach of sand and cobbles at the mouth of the Bedón river, below the N-632 near Naves. It is the most consistent beach in eastern Asturias. Fast, hollow lefts and rights break at many peaks along it, on anything from under a metre to about 3 m of swell. The east end is faster and hollower, for better surfers; the rest suits all levels, and the long beach usually leaves space. The Llanes surf school has taught here since the late 1990s.

Local tips

The rising tide from low is usually best. If you are confident, head east for the hollower peaks; go west for softer waves. Currents are strong, so it is not a beach for casual swimming.

Getting there

You can see the beach from the N-632 near Naves. Naves is about 1 km away. A car park is a few minutes' walk from the sand.

Travel notes

How often it works
One of the most consistent beaches in eastern Asturias. It is wide open to north-west swell, so it has waves most of the year.
Crowd and vibe
Expect 10 to 20 surfers on a good day. The beach is long, so you can usually find an empty stretch. It gets busier in summer.
Camping and vans
The nearest campsite in the regional directory is Camping Sorraos in Barro, about 3 km east. Nearest campsite about 3 km away.
Facilities
Showers, a bar service and a big car park by a viewpoint, with lifeguards every day from mid June to early September.
Water quality
Official Náyade tests are usually fine, but bacteria levels rise now and then, likely helped by the Bedón river at one end. Every sample from 2023 to 2026 was still rated fit for bathing.
