Torimbia is a 500 m shell-shaped bay near Niembro, walled in by green hills, inside the Protected Landscape of the Eastern Asturias Coast. You reach it on foot down a steep lane. The enclosed bay needs some swell to get in, then gives clean, punchy peaks on small to medium swells, best in the middle of the beach. Rips run at the edges. It is a well-known naturist beach and is rarely crowded.

When it works

When it doesn't

✕ Big swells close out the bay, low tide makes it dumpy, and a northerly wind spoils it.

  • rips

Best months

January, February, March, October, November, December

Local tips

The middle of the beach breaks hardest. On bigger days, paddle out from either end. Watch for rips, which can be strong.

Getting there

Park at the top above Niembro and walk about 15 minutes down a steep paved lane. There are no showers or bins on the beach.

Travel notes

How often it works
The cove is sheltered, so it needs some swell and works less often than the open beaches nearby. Winter is the best season.
Crowd and vibe
Plenty of bathers in summer, but few surfers. Local schools bring lessons here when other beaches are poor.
Camping and vans
The nearest campsite in the regional directory is Camping Sorraos in Barro, about 2 km east. Nearest campsite about 2 km away.
Facilities
Very basic: a seasonal chiringuito and summer lifeguards, with parking at the top of a steep walk.
Water quality
Official Náyade tests from 2023 to 2026 show clean water, with every sample fit for bathing.
