Vidiago beach, also called Novales or Bretones, is a small cove west of Vidiago village, inside the Protected Landscape of the Eastern Asturias Coast. A patch of sand sits between rock shelves. It picks up north-west and north swell well and gives short, punchy peaks, left and right, off the sand and the rock edges. It works from under a metre and holds a little over 2 m. Locals surf it when the bigger Llanes beaches are messy, and it is rarely crowded.

Local tips
Autumn and winter are best, once the sandbanks settle. Low to mid tide suits the peaks between the rocks. Expect a handful of surfers, not a crowd.
