Arenal de Morís is the beach of Caravia, an exposed sandy bay below the Sierra del Sueve. It works on most north-west swells, best on long-period swells from distant storms. Shifting sandbanks give several peaks, solid, long and well shaped on a good bank. Rips run along the rocky sides, and at high tide rocks split the beach in two. It suits intermediates best, with gentler days for beginners, and it hosts regional competitions.

History
The beach hosts the regional surf championship every November.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- An exposed bay that picks up north-west groundswells well. Very small swells are not enough to make it break properly.
- Crowd and vibe
- Even when the sand is packed with summer bathers, the water usually holds only a modest crowd. It gets busiest when the Asturian championship comes each November.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Arenal de Morís, in Caravia Alta, sits within about a kilometre of the beach. It closes from 30 September to 31 May, except at Easter and on long weekends. Campervans may not park or sleep overnight in the beach car park or around it. Nearest campsite about 1 km away.
- Facilities
- Toilets and showers (with accessible ones), a picnic area, paid parking and lifeguards every day from late June to the end of August.
- Water quality
- The EU rated the bathing water Excellent every season from 2015 to 2025. The beach does not hold a Bandera Azul in 2026.
