Balieiros is a small, straight beach on the Corrubedo peninsula, near the lighthouse, wide open to Atlantic swell and framed by rocks at both ends. It throws short, fast, powerful peaks with hollow sections over shifting sand, and a strong shorebreak. It works from about half a metre, picks up north-west swell well, and can have waves when the rest of Galicia is flat. Experienced surfers look for the left off the rocks, and there is also a powerful wave over sand and stone in front of the lighthouse.
