Espiñeirido, at Seráns on the Barbanza coast between Ribeira and Porto do Son, is a 1.3 km beach fully open to the Atlantic. It sits in a protected Natura 2000 area of large dunes, with reefs further out. It is one of the most consistent spots in the area and picks up swell when others are flat. Many peaks break both ways, and on good days the waves are powerful, with long sections and the odd tube. The sand shifts all the time and the banks handle up to about 2 m; it is usually quiet.
