A Ladeira is a south-facing beach next to Corrubedo village, in the shelter of the Corrubedo headland at the north end of the dune park. The headland blocks northerly wind, so it is the local refuge on stormy days. It only wakes up when the swell is big elsewhere: big autumn and winter swells wrap around the headland and arrive softened. The waves over sand are then gentle and easy to turn on, which suits beginners and intermediates. Local surf schools use it and rent out gear.
