La Arena is the main beach of the village of Isla in Arnuero, an open, north-facing stretch of sand west of Noja next to the Trasmiera eco-park. It catches the same swells as Noja, Ajo, Ris and Quejo and gives easy peaks for learners on small days. Local schools use it for surf and SUP lessons. Little has been written about it as a surf spot, so treat the numbers as a rough guide.

Local tips
Local schools set their lesson times each day by the tide and the sea, a good sign that the tide matters here. On bigger days, look along the coast to Quejo or Ris instead.
Getting there
Isla is on the CA-448. There is parking next to the sand. Campsites, a hotel and a beach bar sit right behind the beach, with toilets and showers in season.
Travel notes
- Crowd and vibe
- There is little surf information about it. The beach is moderately busy in summer and mostly used by surf schools, so expect learners rather than a serious line-up.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Hotel Playa La Arena opens straight onto the beach, and Camping Playa de Isla (late May to late September) is about 3 km east. Inland in Arnuero there is an área de autocaravanas at Castillo, with 20 places and a 48-hour limit. Nearest campsite about 0.5 km away.
- Facilities
- Toilets, showers, a beach bar and a restaurant on the sand, with a hotel and campsites right behind.
- Water quality
- La Arena holds a Bandera Azul for 2026, so the water tested excellent the season before.
