Goas Lagorn at Beg Léguer is a broad, west-facing beach of sand and rock close to the mouth of the Léguer river, below Lannion. It gives fast, often hollow lefts and rights, short on an average day but much longer when it is good. It is one of the few spots on this stretch that can hold a big swell, well over 4 m out at sea by local accounts, so surfers come here when the sheltered beaches are too big. Strong currents run here, more so after heavy rain when the river floods out, so it suits confident surfers.

Local tips
Surf the rising tide from mid towards high. The currents can pull a long way out, especially after heavy rain inland, so don't surf it alone and keep checking your position against the shore. Early mornings are best, and from the water you can see the remains of an old archaeological site on the headland.
Getting there
From Lannion take the D21 and D65 towards Trébeurden, turn off towards Servel and Beg Léguer, and follow the signs to Goas Lagorn. There is a large car park close to the sand, a bar-restaurant, toilets and a lifeguard post in summer.
Travel notes
- How often it works
- One of the more reliable spots around Lannion. The Léguer river mouth faces west, open to Atlantic swell, and can work in any season. It starts at about 1.5–2 m of swell and handles very big north-westerly swells. Wind is the limit: in April surf-forecast finds about a third of days clean and half spoiled by wind.
- Crowd and vibe
- Wannasurf reports it empty on weekdays and at weekends. Strong river currents and fast, hollow waves keep it for experienced surfers. The water stays quiet and calm.
- Camping and vans
- Camping Les Plages de Beg Léguer is on the route de la Côte at Servel, about 1 km from Goas Lagorn. It is open from late June to the end of August and has a motorhome service point. Nearest campsite about 1 km away.
- Facilities
- The beach has public toilets, showers, a lifeguard post in July and August, and a bar-restaurant open February to November. No surf school is confirmed at the beach.
- Water quality
- Goas Lagorn (Beg Léguer east) was rated Excellent in 2025, with one medium test that July. It sits beside the Léguer estuary, so expect more river water after heavy rain.
