Trestrignel is a smaller cove of fine white sand just north-east of Trestraou, between the granite headlands of the Pointe du Château and the Pointe du Sphinx. It is a sheltered, low-tide spot with short peaks over sand and scattered granite, and it needs a good north-westerly swell to break. It is usually flat through the summer and little is known about it, so treat it as a back-up to Trestraou.

Local tips

Plan around low tide, when the waves are faster and steeper; as the water rises they soften and fade. Compare with Trestraou next door before paddling out, as it is usually the more consistent of the two. Keep an eye on the granite at both ends of the beach.

Getting there

From the Perros-Guirec harbour follow the boulevard de la Mer and then the winding boulevard de Trestrignel down to the beach, about 1 km from the town centre. There is parking at the start of the beach, and toilets, showers and a lifeguard post in season on the seafront.

Travel notes

How often it works
Hit and miss. The cove faces north, tucked behind the Perros headlands. It needs a solid north-westerly swell from a distant storm to break well. Surf-forecast calls it only fairly consistent, and it is mostly flat in summer.
Crowd and vibe
There is little reliable crowd data. One wannasurf rating calls it packed every day. In practice it takes the overflow from Trestraou, so good days bring Perros-Guirec regulars and holiday learners. Share the few take-off spots and let whoever is already waiting go first.
Camping and vans
The nearest campsite is the Domaine de Trestraou on avenue du Casino, about 1.7 km away in a straight line. It is open April to September and has a motorhome service area. Perros-Guirec limits overnight parking for vans. Use the Camping-Car Park aire at Le Ranolien in Ploumanac'h (49 pitches, about €17–21 a night) or the seven-place area without services on rue de Pors Nevez. Nearest campsite about 1.5 km away.
Facilities
The beach has toilets, showers, a bar-restaurant and a summer lifeguard post. The nearest surf schools are Perroz Surf School at Trestraou next door and Ponant Surf School in town.
Water quality
Rated Excellent in the official 2025 bathing-water ranking (ARS / Ministry of Health). Almost every summer test was good, with only the odd medium result.
